Convicted killer gets five years in Amherst jailhouse beating
Timothy Wright Jr., 22, pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding 27-year-old Donnie Seamster in an Aug. 18 beating at the Amherst County jail. Seamster and Wright shared a cellblock in the jail while Wright was awaiting an October trial on murder and various gun charges. As Seamster regained consciousness, he testified, Wright told him, “I ought to kill you like I did the last one. Testimony points at jealousy in Amherst teen's death
According to testimony Tuesday in Amherst County General District Court, that jealousy was what motivated Timothy Wright Jr. to gun down Justin Baumgardner the evening of May 3 as Baumgardner drove down Virginia 130. He testified against Wright on Tuesday and said Wright stole his pistol, which prosecutors believe was used to shoot Baumgardner. Turpin said she suspected Wright had hurt Baumgardner when Baumgardner did not call her later that night.

Amherst County man facing murder charge denied bond
Justin Baumgardner (above) was found dead the morning of May 4. Authorities arrested Timothy Wayne Wright Jr., 21, two days later. According to a search warrant, Davis told police he was with Wright when Baumgardner was shot and that Wright stole his Cobra .380 semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting.

Witness to Amherst County teen's murder revealed
AMHERST - Search warrants and affidavits filed this week in Amherst County Circuit Court reveal that an eyewitness linked Timothy Wayne Wright Jr., 21, to the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Justin Baumgardner. A search warrant states Justin Davis was with Wright when Baumgardner was shot and told police what he saw. He said the handgun that killed Baumgardner was stolen from him and that Wright was wearing a black cap and lost it during the incident.
